Baahubali is selected to screened at the BRICS

Released in July, 2015, India’s biggest motion picture, the SS Rajamouli’s epic magnum opus Baahubali The Beginning,  attained reputation and box-office success across the globe. In yet another international acclaim, Baahubali will be screened at the upcoming BRICS summit which will be held from September 2nd to 6th in New Delhi. Apparently, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s suggestion during the last summit that films be screened for the delegates at every BRICS summit.

Baahubali is one among the four films selected from India to be screened at the BRICS. The other Indian films include Baji Rao Mastani (Hindi), Cinemawallah (Bengali) and Thithi (Kannada). Four films from each of the participating four countries would be screened at the summit.

BRICS it the acronym for an association of five major emerging national economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Originally called BRIC with only the first four countries, it was later renamed as BRICS with the controversial inclusion of South Africa in 2010.
