After weeks of speculations about the film’s release, Rajinikanth‘s much-awaited Kabali hit the screens yesterday (June 22) to humongous reception from the ardent fans of Thalaivar.Right from the 4 a.m special show to the Rs 3000 ticket, Kabali showed us all the Rajini hysteria around the world. Despite the initial mixed reviews from the audience, the invincible superstar Rajinikanth, has set the box.
According to sources, the first day box office collection of Kabali is estimated to gross over Rs 70 crore. Over the weekend, the film is expected to surpass the total collections of some of the big films, Rajinikanth’s film earns Rs 110 crore in three days, beats Sultan.
Rajinikanth’s Kabali has already broken the first day box office collection record set by Aamir Khan‘s PK and Salman Khan‘s Sultan in the US, which garnered close to $1,418,817 and $784,194 respectively. Kabali’s box office collection from the premiere show in the US shows a whopping number close to 2 million dollars($1,922,995).
Speaking about the film’s box office collection, Vijay Singh CEO at Fox Star Studio was quoted by Economic Times as saying, “Kabali has lived up to the high expectation and opened to packed houses across India. It was expected to garner an earth shattering opening in the southern markets and it is indeed phenomenal due to the star power of Rajinikanth.
